SPRINGS OF RELIEF ACADEMY
Springs of Relief Academy at Masara traces its beginnings back to a conversation in December of 2020 between two friends, Peter and Mark. Plans had been made and funds put in place to purchase a piece of property behind Masara GGFC for the future construction of a kindergarten and day care for children of the community. When those plans had to be aborted due to title problems with the property, it was agreed that the funds would be reallocated to purchase our tuk tuk, to enable us to market our pure, clean water to grateful customers throughout the community. That became the first operation of what we call “Springs of Relief for springs of relief”, providing people with jobs and SoR with income. But the vision for an Academy never left the conversations.
Over the next couple of months the vision grew in detail. A well known architect did the initial drawings, and construction began in May 2020. Oddly enough, the property had been there all along, just down the hill and across the road from the borehole! Through His “Team” God has provided a beautiful facility consisting of two 1600 buildings containing 6 classrooms and the SoR Director’s office, and the first 50 students were enrolled on April 26, 2022! Our purpose is academic excellence, and our objective is to transform the lives and fortunes of every child, both the underprivileged and the fortunate, who attend.
We will be faithful in our mission, bearing witness to the Good News of the Kingdom of God, and we are grateful for our friends and partners who help to bring forth the fruit!
Along with the information and videos below, those who are further interested can find additional information on our “Parents” page.

People are learning about us as Word gets out!

THE SYMBOLISM OF OUR COLORS
In Kenya, as in many parts of the world, colors have symbolic significance, and are displayed on gates, roofs, walls, and especially, in uniforms. The SoR Academy selected Blue and Maroon.
The blue represents the skies, the heavens where God our Father, who is our provider, lives. The Maroon is a color reminding us of The Covenant, where the purposeful good will of God, through forgiveness, has displayed His Righteousness. We also consider maroon to be a sign of our continual gratitude to God. We give Him thanks for His grace and all of His promises contained in Jesus Christ our Lord, from whom all blessings flow!
